For a spread sheet type approach use Google Docs
It all started in 1979 with VisiCalc but now it has to be MS Excel. For the last six months I have used a new Web 2.0 product called iRows. I nice system with an Excel feel to it including graphics or charts. But sadly it will die in Dec 2006 and the developers will move to Google.
Google docs will save in MS Excel format and has a lot to offer, let's hope it gets charts soon.
